Welcome to Almanac
Founded from our shared love of craft, design, art and antiques, Almanac is a continually evolving collection of objects for the home. The shop is in the heart of Pietrasanta, a beautiful town on Tuscany's Versilian coast.
We bring together old and new from all over the world: handmade ceramics, block-printed textiles, rugs, baskets, glassware, table linen, folk art, antique finds and decorative pieces with character.
Some things are rare, some are simple, some are useful every day. But everything is chosen because we think it's beautiful and might help make life just a little bit lovelier.
Meet the founders
Almanac was founded by Claudio and David, whose shared eye brings together art, antiques, craft, design and decoration.
Claudio is from Florence, and has known Pietrasanta since childhood. After studying archaeology he spent nearly twenty years in the auction world, including a decade as Head of Antiquities at Christie’s London — an experience that shaped his instinct for age, material, provenance and objects with real character.
David grew up on the West Coast of Canada and has spent his career as an author and interiors editor in London, writing about design, decoration and the way people live with beautiful things.
Together, they fell in love with Pietrasanta: its artists, galleries, restaurants and particular rhythm of life. Almanac grew from that shared affection - a shop filled with things they love, chosen for homes that are layered, personal and full of delight.
