Refund, Returns, and Cancellations Policy

Thank you very much for choosing to shop with us. We know that choosing an antique or a special piece of furniture for your home is an act of trust, and it is essential to us that you are satisfied with your choice.

We also know that sometimes people change their minds or needs change. That is why we have tried to make our return and cancellation rules as transparent as possible, in full compliance with the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005). Here is everything you need to know:

1. Changed Your Mind? How to Cancel an Order

If you have made a purchase but realize you made a mistake, do not worry:

  • If you contact us within 24 hours of payment (or in any case before the package is handed over to the courier), we can cancel the order instantly and at no cost. We will refund the full amount within 5 working days using the same payment method you used. To do this, simply write to us immediately at: info@almanac-home.com.

  • If the courier has already departed and taken charge of the goods, we will no longer be able to physically stop the shipment. In this case, no problem: simply wait for the shipment to arrive at your home and then initiate the standard return procedure explained below.

2. Right of Withdrawal (Cooling-Off Period) for Online Purchases

Pursuant to e-commerce laws, if you purchased as a private consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the purchase contract, without giving any reason, within 14 calendar days.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party designated by you, acquires physical possession of the goods.

Legal Exception (Customized Goods): The right of withdrawal is excluded for goods made to measure or clearly personalized (for example, furniture subjected to custom restoration, structural modifications, or lacquering at the specific request of the customer).

3. How to Initiate a Return

To start the return process, you can send an explicit communication via email to info@almanac-home.com within the 14-day deadline. Once your request is approved, we will provide you with instructions.

Please note:

  • Return Shipping Costs: In the event of a withdrawal due to a change of mind, the direct costs of returning the goods are entirely borne by the customer.

  • Nature of the Goods (Furniture and Antiques): Since some of our items are fragile antiques that cannot be shipped using standard postal services, the cost of returning them via a specialized courier could be high (estimated indicatively between €100 and €300 depending on volume and distance). The customer is responsible for properly planning the return transport.

  • Condition of the Goods: Antiques and furniture must be returned intact, in the exact same condition in which they were received, complete with any original certificates of authenticity, and carefully packed to prevent damage during transport. The customer is liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature and characteristics.

4. Refund Timeline and Methods

After receiving the goods at our premises and verifying their integrity, we will proceed with the refund within 14 days.

  • The refund includes the full amount paid, including the standard shipping costs incurred to receive the item (costs for extra delivery services or white-glove delivery to a specific floor selected at checkout are excluded).

  • The refund will be issued using the same means of payment used for the initial transaction.

  • We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until the customer has supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is earliest.

5. Goods Damaged During Transport or Non-Compliant Items

All of our antiques are carefully photographed and described before shipping. Any signs of aging, wear, or original patinas are part of the very nature of vintage items and are not considered defects.

However, if an item should suffer serious damage during transport:

  • It is vital to sign the courier's delivery slip "with reserve" (condizionale) at the time of delivery if the packaging is visibly damaged.

  • Report the damage within 48 hours of receipt by sending photos of the packaging and the damaged item to info@almanac-home.com.

In the event of verified transport damage or a lack of conformity not reported in the product description sheet, the costs of return and replacement/repair (where possible) will be entirely borne by us, or a full refund will be processed.
